Fishing (Catch & Release)
Fishing is allowed on Catch & Release basis for ecological reasons. Here you set the fish you catch free preserving the environment. The most common species are, Pintado (catfish), Pacu, Bagre and Dourado and, of course, the famous Piranha.

Bird Watching
Birds´watching is one of the Rio Negro Farm highlights. With binoculars, on horseback, on foot, by boat or driving guests will be able to see an incredible number of birds´ species. Right around the main house red, green and blue macaws, monkey parakeets, black-hooded parakeets, roseate spoonbills, jabitu storks & cormorants may be easily found. The best season for wildlife observation in the Pantanal is the beginning of the rainy season, that is from October to November. In The breeding season of many birds starts in March, August and September.

The carts pulled by horses are nice, silent, comfortable vehicles, traditional in the Pantanal, very good for short trips and nature observation.
Fishing in Rio Miranda
The anual circle of flooding is the main reason for the big diversity and amount of fish in the Pantanal. The species important for sport fishing activities are associated with the areas flooded the most. There are about 263 species listed, and 85% of them are from the Ostariophysi superordem, including such fish as Pacu, Dourado, Pintado and Cascudo. Important information:
Use summer clothes like jeans, t-shirt and cap. But take some warmer ones, too (jacket or sweater). The nights are sometimes chilly in the Pantanal. The rooms in most of the Pantanal hotels and inns are equipped with air-conditioner and the meals are already included in the price.
Sun protector, insect repellent, sneakers, flashlights, and, of course, a camera! These are the things you will need badly in the Pantanal!
